Salsa ist ein Partnertanz, der in den 1960er Jahren auf den Straßen der Karibik entstanden ist. Damals hatten die Schritte noch keine besondere Bedeutung, da sie nur zum Spaß gedacht waren. So entstanden Tänze wie „Son“ und „Danzon“, die schließlich ihren Weg nach New York fanden. In dieser Zeit war „Fania Records“ ein beliebtes Plattenlabel, das den neuen Tanzstil mit großer Begeisterung aufnahm. Sie verwandelten den Begriff „Sauce“ in „Salsa“ und entwickelten einen neuen Trend. Dies führte zur Gründung der ersten Salsa-Tanzschule in New York, die zusammen mit Filmen wie „Dirty Dancing“ den neuen Tanzstil weltweit populär und gefragt machte.
Paddy was born on October 7, 1988, in Frankfurt / Main and began dancing at the age of 15 at Alisch’s Casino in Aschaffenburg. There he met his longtime dance partner Malvi, with whom he performed successfully on German and European stages for over ten years. Paddy is currently working as a dance teacher, choreographer, dance teacher, jury and trainer. In his youth Paddy was able to learn from numerous teachers such as Yvonne Alisch, Helder Rodrigues (Dance in Trier), Jazzy & Alexis Ruiz (Salsakompaniet & A-Custica, Oslo, Norway), High Knee (Christian Anetsberger, Rosenheim, Munich), Chris DC (LaCalidad, Frankfurt) and Patrick Grigo ( Move Too Hot, Burghausen). He found his love in the dance styles: Salsa LA-Style, Salsa New York Style On2, Bachata, Hip Hop (Hype Dance & Breaking), Standard & Latin American Ballroom Dances University. Background: Bachelor of Arts in educational science (focus on special education) and journalism. Thesis topic: Bonding and Dance – Master of Arts in Special Education and Psychomotor Skills. Thesis topic: dance and resilience. From 2015 to 2020 Paddy worked for numerous institutions such as: European Central Bank, Lavicosa Salsa Foundation Germany, Blue Diamonds Eschborn Dancers e. V., EuroKids gGmbH of the European School Frankfurt, WFB Mainz – workshops for disabled people, FIPS – support in psychomotor skills, Johannes Gutenberg- University of Mainz, management of psychomotor support groups with children (FIPS). Dance project at the Anne Franck School in Frankfurt to promote the social skills of the students. Paddy has been part of the LaCalidad team since the beginning. Paddy also really liked the idea of a dance center in Frankfurt by dancers for dancers.
